What is with all these -21s and -3s?!
Posted on July 28, 2015
If you've been shopping Traxxas products recently, you might have noticed that the part numbers have been changing. Many of your favorite models now have -2, -21, or -3 to the end of their root part number.
So what do these changes mean for you?
A -2 after a product number means that the product has On Board Audio (OBA). OBA is a recent invention courtesy of the engineers and product designers. It amps the realism and fun in your RC car by turning out actual engine sounds from a 900+ horsepower Pro 4X4 short course truck. This enhances your driving experience by responding to every gear shift and turn, as well as adding extra excitement to your already wicked fast accelerations. You can also control your audio using your advanced TQ radio system. Like all Traxxas products, OBA is built to last and its rigid and is water sealed inside your car with the rest of the internal mechanisms, so it only adds adventure to your RC experience instead of limiting it like similar systems might.
A -3 after a product number means that the product has Traxxas Stability Management (TSM). Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) allows you to experience all the extreme power, speed, and acceleration that was engineered into your Traxxas model by making it much easier to control the vehicle on any surface.TSM senses the vehicle’s direction and makes steering corrections to provide straight-ahead full-throttle acceleration without fishtailing, spinouts, and loss of control. You can read more about TSM in the blog we published a few weeks ago here.
A -21 after a product number means that this product is loaded with both TSM and OBA. This dynamic duo makes for the ultimate RC experience!
